IXTAPA

Discover the natural beauty of Ixtapa, the most modern resort on Mexico's west coast, with half of its land allotted as ecological reserve.
Located only 3 miles from Zihuatanejo: legend has it that Zihuatanejo, the elder of the two cities by nearly 450 years, was first discovered by the Spanish in 1522. The Spanish were unimpressed by this serene little bay, a haven known to the Aztecs as Zihuatlan, or "place of women", named so because of the matriarchal society that lived there.
